Damn, I mangled the cork
I guess I’d better finish the bottle.
So, I’m enjoying some wine, listening to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, and reading Visual Explanations by Edward Tufte. I’m sipping, listening, and reading when it dawns on me that I am listening to the 4th movement of Symphony No. 9 and the book I am reading is using a computer learning screen on the themes of this same movement to illustrate parallelism. I’m going to hazard that my reading of this section was more parallel than most.
Also, for all of those who wrote it to guess the answer to my away message: “Drinking some wine and pondering great questions, like how many glasses it’ll take me to get to the bottom”, the answer is two and one-half. Of course, you were probably thinking wine glasses, of which I own none—I used a beer mug instead.
