Election Day

Tuesday, November 5th, 2002

Today's the day that I get to try and vote for the people that I think will infringe on my freedoms the least. I love it!

Election Day gets me really excited. Maybe it's because I'm a control freak or maybe it's because I really dig the multi-colored maps. It's the Red vs. the Blue! I hope they fight to a stalemate and some other parties gain support. I really think that I'd be good for the country to have more than two parties that war each other ... I feel that we might have some more issue based debate that way. And I'm all for issues over party loyalties.

I was quite happy to cast a vote for Bob Simmons's opponent. Really burns me up about the stuff he voted for in the Patriot Act. Although, I guess imprisonment without just cause really isn't all that new; read Mitnick's First Chapter. However, I just cannot vote for someone who voted to make that sort of thing legal, along with other things such as religious profiling, gag orders for librarians, and searches without warrants.

I just love the rug imprints from my bookcase. I'm a big dork that worships far too many dead trees.
