Brewin’ a Spider and More!

Saturday, May 4th, 2002

Today featured Spider-Man and a trip to the Wachusett brewery. Both of which rocked. It was an incredibly eventful day as I went to a party in Boston as well.

Saw Spider-Man at 12:05 AM Saturday morning. Damn it was a good movie. I really identified with the web slinger (as I’m sure many others do—obviously a ton of people really like it). The acting was pretty good … music fit well … visuals were convincing. All in all very entertaining and highly recommended.

I wanted to wake up early to go watch my sister and her team, who row lightweight eight for Radcliffe, take on Princton. But there were no trains into Boston in the morning. That was unfortunate. Even worse … Princton beat them. Damnit.

Since I wasn’t in Boston I went to the Wachusett brewery with a bunch of friends. This was our second brewery tour this week. And it was way better than Harpoon. We actually got a tour of the plant floor, bigger samples, etc. If you like beer check these guys out. They were started by three WPI grads a few years back. It’s good stuff.

Went to Brandeis for a party some people I knew were throwing. Surprised a friend from high school who had no idea I was coming … I think it qualified as a conspiracy as a whole bunch of people ploted this surprise. Party was cool except I could have used a bit of supervision when I was in my drunken but still mobile state. I’ve now resolved that I’m going to be sober or passed out … there is no more middle ground.

Spent Sunday slowly working my way back to Worcester. It was a good time to just saunter back with all the time in the world and no worries.

I can’t get enough of The Middle by Jimmy Eat World. Picked up Manifold Space by Stephen Baxter. It’s one of the better Sci-Fi books I’ve read lately.
